We are grateful to Aislynn Row for Sponsoring Gillian at Okere Community School
Operating a community school offering quality education and child development services in a remote village in Northern Uganda is a difficult task which requires massive resources. That is why we receive with pride and gratitude any support that makes us do our job to the best of our ability.
We are specifically grateful to Aislynn Row who is the first supporter to our SPONSOR A CHILD AT OKERE COMMUNITY SCHOOL campaign.
Aislynn’s support has been matched to Adongo Gillian, a 3.5 years old pupil currently enrolled in the baby class section. Aislynn has committed to make sure that Gillian finishes the 3 years early childhood development programme which ensures that a formidable foundation is laid for the children in Okere village.
Gillian isn’t only a hardworking child, but she is also a very dedicated and social child. She is jovial and loves playing with almost all the children in her class.
Gillian’s grandmother is Grace Achola who also serves as the school’s local chef/cook. The school has been able to smoothly operate because of Grace’s unbridle passion to serve her community. She wakes up at dawn as the cocks’ crow, walks to school at and by sunset, the kids are served a cup of porridge.
‘’I am happy someone I don’t know has volunteered to help us make Gillian get an education she deserves. It’s a blessing’’ Grace said.
